FLEXITAST
Programmable Display Pushbutton for Industrial Control Panels
Flexitast combines a rugged industrial pushbutton with an integrated 72 x 72 pixel ZBD display, allowing text, symbols, colors, and status indicators to appear directly on the button.
Its RGBW backlight provides clear visual feedback, while the display remains visible without power and resists burn-in. Protected by break-resistant glass and programmable on the fly, Flexitast gives engineers a flexible, cost-effective way to reduce fixed labels, simplify panel designs, and adapt controls without changing hardware.
Simple, Intuitive Configuration
Flexitast buttons can be configured directly through a web browser. Connect an individual button or the Flexitast gateway to a web-enabled device via USB, then access the configuration interface to set up the button or complete system.
Engineers can quickly configure:
- Symbols for active and inactive states
- Background colors for pressed and not-pressed states
- Blinking behavior for pressed and not-pressed states
- Standard Schlegel symbols
- Custom uploaded symbols

Flexitast as a system
In a system, the control is done via a bus system in which up to 32 Flexitast buttons can be connected. The Flexitast gateway controls the communication and parameterisation of the individual Flexitast buttons and also acts as an interface to the external system. Events can be recorded via the external system and are transferred to the gateway, for example to change the symbol for a specific Flexitast button or to change the background colour of all connected buttons. The specific applications can be very diverse: be it changing the texts in different languages before delivery to the customer or an active warning in critical situations using red flashing warning symbols. Each Flexitast button is connected to the next via a cable, whereby the maximum distance between two buttons is 5 meters and the total length of the connection can be up to 30 meters.
The configuration is done via the browser on a PC that is connected to the gateway via USB cable.

Flexitast customised
The customised version of Flexitast offers maximum flexibility in adapting to individual requirement. The configuration and control of the buttons is carried out according to the customer's wishes, whereby additional functions and interfaces can be easily implemented. This allows to optimally integrate the Flexitast buttons into existing systems and processe to display both, texts and symbols. This tailor-made solution enables perfect adaptation to specific applications and requirements.
